Every year in Kansas, farmers use their creativity to plant 5 to 10 acres of corn. Farmer plant these corn mazes in many different and interesting shapes. The corn plots are plowed to shape soaring eagles, sunflowers, schooners, lighthouses and other shapes viewed from the air. Every year families come from far and wide to navigate through the labyrinths of corn stalks. They enter through a starting point and using a map and/or signs try to navigate through the maze. It can take over an hour for some to find their way out of the maze. Some mazes operate at night too under the moonlight or using flashlights. Other activities available at farms are pumpkin patches and hayrides.
Gaeddert Farms Corn Maze has 2 miles of paths to navigate through the maze which is near Buhler, northeast of Hutchinson.
Other mazes can be found in or near Wichita, Goodland, Ellis, Buhler, Grantville, Dorrance, Gardner and Burns.
